Extended Range Recharge Models Also Get a Horsepower Boost
Not only will Volvo Recharge models have a longer pure electric range, but they’ll also have increased horsepower. The Volvo XC90 for instance, produces 250-horsepower from its base four-cylinder engine while the XC90 Recharge’s T8 powertrain makes 400 horsepower. PHEV Models Get Increased Battery Capacity
Volvo has increased the total energy capacity of its new battery from 11.6 kWh to 18.8 kWh. Bernalillo drivers will like that the electric-only range is expected to increase to 38 miles for the new Volvo V60 and 32 miles for the new XC60 and XC90. Volvo will use the “Extended Range” designation to let people in Rio Rancho know which models have the updated powertrain.
